About Me
I have been driving for 35 years, and have been an advanced driving instructor since 2017. I am based in Rayleigh, and my areas to work in are Leigh-on-sea, Shoeburyness, Southend, Rochford, Ashingdon, Hockley, Hawkwell and Chalkwell. I have had various job titles over the years as a special constable working for Essex police, and more recently a hackney carriage driver working in the Southend area for 25 years. The best part about my job is that I enjoy watching pupils learn and grow a new skill for life and pass their driving test.

Total Drive App
All of my pupils use the Total Drive app which is free to download and easy to use. The app allows pupils to see their upcoming lessons, receive lesson reminders 48 hours before an upcoming lesson, view their driving progress and their reflective logs. I also broadcast extra lesson availability and can message pupils through the app.

Firstly, I can't thank Kevin enough for passing my driving test in Southend. He is THE best driving instructor. Very friendly, and very patient. He never gets angry at me no matter how many mistakes I make. Never raised his voice at me, not even once.
Lessons are top-notch as well. Set clear objectives and good briefing before starting every single lesson. He provides great guidance and advice and always gives invaluable feedback. He had me well-prepared and confident for the test. Overall, I can't recommend Kevin (Kevin Ovens) enough for whoever looking for an automatic driving instructor in Southend.

I can’t recommend Kevin Ovens enough! Having had bad past experiences with previous driving instructors, Kevin has helped changed my view and my driving…progressing all the way into a PASS at last! I can’t thank him enough for his time, dedication and patience. Kevin always makes you feel at ease and relaxed, always making jokes to keep the lessons less intense and enjoyable! If you’re lucky enough to have Kevin as your driving instructor you definitely will not be disappointed! Now onto the pass plus!!
